Pomodoro timer

Use an adjustable Pomodoro study timer for focus sessions, short breaks and long breaks. Start each phase yourself; no account or automatic saving.

Session settings

Changes apply only when you press Apply settings. Applying during a session asks before resetting it.

Focus session

25:00

Ready

Completed focus sessions: 0

Active settings: 25 minutes focus, 5 minutes short break, 15 minutes long break after every 4 completed focus sessions.

Alternate focus and rest

Choose one task, start a focus session, and pause if you need to stop. When time runs out, prepare the suggested break and press Start. A long break follows every configured number of completed focus sessions. Breaks do not increase the focus count.

Keep this tab open

The countdown uses a clock deadline rather than counting timer callbacks. Returning to a background tab updates the elapsed time, but browsers can delay the completion message while a tab or device sleeps. Sessions never advance automatically. Changing the device clock can change the countdown.

This timer has no sound, notifications, or background service. Leaving this page or reloading resets it. Pausing preserves the remaining time; Reset clears the current session and focus count after confirmation.

Plan your study tasks and available time.

An online Pomodoro timer for study sessions

Before starting the timer, choose a task small enough to make progress on within one session: annotate a source, solve a set of practice questions or revise a paragraph. Set focus and break lengths that fit your task and available time.

A 25-minute focus session followed by a five-minute break occupies 30 minutes. Four such pairs occupy two hours, before any longer break. These durations are planning choices, not a guarantee of better learning; adjust them when your work or access needs call for a different rhythm.

At the end of a session, note what you completed and choose the next task. The timer suggests the next phase but waits for you to start it. Keep this tab open and use a separate reminder when missing a deadline would matter: device sleep and background-tab restrictions can delay the completion message.

Common questions

Can I use a 25-minute study timer with five-minute breaks?

Yes. Set the focus duration to 25 minutes and the short break to five minutes. Longer breaks are adjustable too. The timer suggests the next phase but waits for you to start it, so you can stop or change the plan between sessions.

Does the Pomodoro timer work offline?

An already loaded timer can continue calculating in the browser without an internet connection while the page remains active. Loading or refreshing the tool needs a connection; the installed app does not cache the full timer page. Device sleep can delay completion messages.

Do sessions and breaks start automatically?

No. You start each phase explicitly. Completing a break does not increase the completed focus-session count.

Does the timer survive a refresh?

No. Its state is held in the current browser page and is not saved automatically. Keep the tab open during a session.

Will a phone always alert me while locked?

Do not rely on that. Browsers can suspend background activity. The countdown updates from its deadline when the page runs again, but this is not a guaranteed background alarm.
